Heart Without Home

A Voice for the Voiceless

The greatest lessons are learned from those most different from us

My Mission

Hi, my name is Garrett Hoffman, and I'm the founder of Heart Without Home. Growing up in Pensacola, Florida, an area with a large homeless population, I quickly realized my passion for supporting the local homeless community. In middle school, my church's youth group would walk around downtown giving out hygiene supplies and socks to the homeless. We would also ask them if we could pray for them. I was always captivated by the stories they would tell. Their stories allowed me to see past their situation and to see the person in full. They were not so different from me and you. Many have faced terrible heartache, addiction, and the consequences of bad choices. They also often had great wisdom. I knew then that I wanted to make it my mission to share their stories, which otherwise don't have a platform to be shared.

I developed this site in the hopes that it may wash away preconceived notions and grow compassion. Please approach these interviews with an open mind. The greatest lessons are often learned from those most different from us.
